The Macallan Brand Ambassador – Chicago will be responsible for increasing saliency around The Macallan portfolio in the Chicago market through brand activations, trade advocacy and supporting the commercial goals of the organization. This position functions to build brand awareness, trade education, distribution and velocity, and requires a motivated, entrepreneurial individual who will create new advocates for the brands through their networking and interactions. 

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible (but not limited to): 

  • Represent The Macallan portfolio within the region and act as the face of our brands. Responsible for education and interactions at key trade and consumer events, act as the in-market expert and identify activities that help increase brand awareness
  • Establish and maintain strong connections with key stakeholders, local trade contacts, influencers, distributor partners and local collaborators that align with the brands
  • Execute activations with a focus in on-premise, including impactful educational seminars
  • Partner with local commercial teams to drive sales, work-with planning, activation planning and KPI delivery
  • Drive a leading global luxury brand to deliver yearly profit growth and simultaneously grow brand equity
  • Partner and work with Division Marketing Manager (DMM) and Brand Team to implement Brand Communications and Programs
  • Assist distributor partners to drive distribution and sales, ensuring top-of-mind presence
  • Execute at key retailer and on-premise events
  • Create and execute activations to help drive The Macallan Prestige Portfolio’s Halo Effect
  • Develop key bartender and influencer advocacy within the region
  • Take ownership in building social media, manage posts and networking that align with brand objectives and increase engagement
  • Manage, track, and forecast funds to stay within budget. Present annual budget plans to deliver KPIs.
  • Organize weekly plans and submit monthly recaps outlining activities, competitive activations, KPIs and staff training reports.  

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related field with strong hospitality or luxury sales background
  • 3+ years within alcohol beverage industry
  • Experience interacting with High Net Worth Individuals and Luxury Consumers
  • Strong time, budget management, and organizational skills
  • Enthusiastic, strategic thinker, team-oriented and able to work collaboratively with a variety of different teams, individuals and environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidate will be required to demonstrate skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and thorough knowledge of social media channels
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to legally work in the US
  • Travel up to 20%
  • In this position you should be able to demonstrate the leadership standards (Inspire, Change, Collaborate, Engage and Deliver) within your role on a day-to-day basis
