The Strategic Finance Manager will partner with key departments across the business in evaluating current business performance while identifying any future opportunities with recommendations on course of action to Senior Management. Underpinning this will be the ensuring of our continued focus and commitment towards our strategic initiatives. The Strategic Finance Manager should have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across various levels and functions and must be able to work in a team.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and foster a solid business partnership with the Divisions and all internal and external departments and stakeholders to drive business decisions that maximize our sales values
- Challenge and influence the business to ensure initiatives are aligned with Commercial strategy
- Play a leading role in the advising and counselling of Senior management in the development of new and existing business strategies
- Lead cross-functional work to evaluate financial impact of the company’s short and long-term strategic initiatives and collaborate with broader FP&A team and Finance functions to incorporate into financial plans/forecasts
- Own the Edrington USA planning cycle, including the 5-year planning process, annual operating planning, and monthly/quarterly S&OP forecasting processes
- Lead the S&OP process with the Commercial Finance team, asking insightful questions into what is working and what is not with recommendation on course of action to Senior Leadership
- Work with Business Units and Leadership Team to develop and monitor monthly results, analyse key business & financial KPIs, uncover trends and assess current / future business & financial risks and opportunities to drive both top line and bottom line performance
- Collaborate with fellow Commercial Finance Team members on key business issues whilst ensuring continued focus and commitment towards our strategic initiatives
- Establish a consistent approach to reporting and assumptions across the Divisional Finance Teams
- Play a key role in business reporting, identifying actionable trends and opportunities while also partnering with members of both the US and Regional leadership teams on assessing and analysing critical business decisions
- Collaborate with Business Units across the organization on a variety of strategic projects serving as end-to-end Finance project manager for all strategy led projects
- Perform ad-hoc analyses and deep dives to support special projects and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate within Finance on process and reporting improvements, team deliverables and sharing business insights
- Prepare presentations and key reporting deliverables and communications that summarize information concisely for key stakeholders
- Implement processes, frameworks and systems that allow us to capture and utilize timely and accurate financial data across the business to make better decisions
- Responsible for ensuring the Commercial Insights & Strategy Analyst is focused on key business issues
- Cultivate meaningful internal and external partnerships, adding value and insights for the organization; being insight driven to uncover important unmet needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Finance or related field required, MBA preferred
- Previous background experience in Finance or Accounting preferred
- Experience in Spirits/adult beverage industry preferred but not required
- 5-7 years of related experience with proven track-record working in finance/accounting analysis
- Advanced MS Excel skills are required; strong knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Cognos and SAP systems is must
- Knowledge of SQL preferred
- A strategic thinker with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Data driven and goal oriented, measuring success both quantitatively and qualitatively, and understanding the importance of both
- Ability to execute on today's challenges while maintaining a forward-thinking mindset around where we'll be in six months, a year, and several years from now
