The HR Manager will lead a broad range of human resources responsibilities, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, career development, compensation, compliance, payroll and local employee programs. The HR Manager will provide proactive support to the HR Director in the execution of a variety of human resources functions that support the business. Working in close partnership with the HR team headquartered in Scotland and the HR Manager in New York is key to the success of this role.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
HR processes

Oversee the daily operations of HR processes and initiatives. Act as a day to day resource to the employees and line managers regarding Edrington’s Policies, Procedures and Programs, including interpretation and administration. Partner with line on leadership initiatives, and provide strategic direction in areas of employment activities. This includes:

  • On-boarding & Termination: Manages employee on boarding activities to ensure a great joining experience for new employees and conduct local orientation for new hires
  • Performance, Talent & Salary Review
  • Training and Development
  • HRIS Management
  • Payroll processing support
Benefits Management
Support the management and ensure compliance of benefit programs such as medical health and life insurance, leave of absence, time off, 401K, COBRA. Oversee plan selection and implementation process when needed in coordination with the HR Manager in New York. Track FMLA, unpaid leaves, and workers compensation.
Talent acquisition
Initiates and drives recruitment processes, recruiting with integrity and ensuring a great candidate experience through the recruitment process. Manages the full scope of the employee life cycle including: identifying resourcing issues, implementing local staffing plans to ensure staffing needs are met. Retain relationship with search firms when needed, submit postings, conduct interviews, and provide input to hiring managers.  
Compliance and Legal Requirements
Responsible for understanding and executing compliance of all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook. Adapts to changing labor laws. Ensures HR records are maintained to support HR audit & compliance. Takes a proactive and innovative approach in recommending the application of new regulations as they pertain to federal and state requirements. Supports immigration and secondment processes for the Americas.

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required

  • 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Bachelor degree required, Master’s in HR preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Benefits Management, Legal and Compliance
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop solutions
  • Experience in managing and implementing projects
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Payroll Management, Visa, employment laws and regulations knowledge preferred
  • Experience with system implementation
  • Prior managerial experience
  • Top tier problem solving, prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Experience working for a global company a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • In this position you should be able to demonstrate the leadership standards (Inspire, Change, Collaborate, Engage and Deliver) within your role on a day-to-day basis
