The HR Manager will play a key role in the success of the organization. He/She will offer general HR expertise and guidance in the management of the full HR operations for US and Canada, which includes: Employee Relations, Recruitment, Performance Management, Training & Development, Compensation/Benefits, Compliance & best practices etc.
 
The HR Manager will work in close partnership with the Americas HR Director, the Americas Talent and Reward Advisors as well as the local Leadership team, in order to ensure a robust regional support, alignment and cohesion across the entire Americas region and with our global HR strategy and partners. The HR Manager will report directly to the Americas HR Director.

Job Responsibilities

The HR Manager will oversee the following operations for the US and Canada regions:
 
Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Support & guide line managers by bringing people management expertise to help resolve issues, make decisions, coach for individual & personal growth
  • Support employees and answer any HR related questions
  • Manage yearly performance review process and guide Managers through performance issues and difficult conversations
  • Conduct talent review with local line managers, conduct follow-up and reporting within HRIS
  • Follow-up with Managers and report on Performance Review as well as objective setting process
  • Guide and assist Managers with performance improvement plan, attend termination meeting. Manage record keeping. Manage Severance agreement and layoffs
Talent Acquisition
  • Accompany local hiring managers in the recruitment process, from drafting the Job Description to conducting the first screening interviews
  • Collaborate with the Americas Reward Advisor to make recommendation and agree on package. Issue offer letters
  • Manage all local new hire/leavers communications and announcements
Training and Development
  • Manage local new hire orientation
  • Make recommendation and implement local training, development initiatives, facilitate coaching and mentoring
  • Train on local HR initiatives, tools and systems as needed
  • Deliver 360 feedback
  • Implement locally and follow up on global initiatives such as Wellbeing and Learning at work
Compliance, Reporting & Data Management
  • Ensure local policies and guidelines compliance. Make recommendations to maintain current local policies and procedures up to date
  • Manage employees’ profiles in HRIS as well as other employees’ electronic files
  • Manage employee immigration paperwork, legal advisory, and ensure follow up on related procedures
  • Maintain updated local data on SharePoint page
  • Attend appropriate conferences and other Industry related seminar to stay informed about best practices
Reward and Benefits
  • Manage relationship with local payroll and other benefits providers
  • Oversee local payroll process in close collaboration with local finance
  • Answer employees’ questions related to payroll and all region-specific benefits
  • Manage local census, audits and any other internal/external reporting
  • Manage local TRS process
  • Oversee local bonus and salary increase processes, engage, follow up with Managers and ensure data maintenance in HRIS.
  • Make local benefits recommendations and manage local open enrolment as well as onboarding
  • Work on long-term benefits strategy with local benefits broker

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required

  • BA/ Master’s in HR preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of experience providing HR generalist support in the USA. Canada is a plus
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in employee relations
  • Prior multi-states experience is a must
  • Prior experience in US employment law and regulations
  • Experience with benefits and payroll management is a plus
  • Experience working for a global company a plus
  • Excel master user
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Strong organizational/prioritization skills with an ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects while maintain a close attention to detail
