The HR Generalist will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, performance management, employee relations, employee development and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management. The HR Generalist will play a key role in the set-up of our new business entity in Mexico and as a consequence will be highly involved in defining the HR fundamentals and company culture. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Mexico Managing Director and will work in close partnership with the HR Director based in New York.

Job Responsibilities

HR processes implementation and maintenance

  • Manage HR Budget for Mexico
  • Manage Employees profiles in Employee Central as well as employees files (paper/electronic)
  • Ensure legal compliance of all processes
  • Ensure employees communication (new hire, leavers, training, updates etc.)
  • Ensure processes efficiency and re-evaluate when appropriate
  • Conduct regular review, business update with Mexico Leadership team

Recruitment

  • Oversee recruitment process and make sure steps are followed ensuring diversity
  • Collaborate with HR Director  for new roles authorization and final approvals/offers
  • Conduct final interviews
  • Make package recommendation and extend offer letters

Reward and Benefits

  • Manage relationship with Payroll provider in collaboration with CFO
  • Ensure salary and bonus review with line Managers and Leadership team
  • Ensure consistency and equality across the organization
  • Manage all employees benefits and relationship with providers
  • Review company package (benefits and compensation) on a yearly basis and make appropriate recommendations
  • Attend appropriate conferences and other Industry related seminar to stay informed about best practices

Performance Management, and Employee Relations

  • Ensure Managers training on best practices and work on prevention
  • Ensure communication and training on internal performance management system
  • Conduct calibration meetings to ensure consistency and transparency across the organization
  • Guide managers through Performance Improvement Plan and keep records up to date
  • Resolve any employees issues involving appropriate parties (HR Director, Legal, Management) and conduct investigations
  • Manage Severance Agreement and layoff in collaboration with the HR Director and Legal advisor
  • Visit second office on a quarterly basis and spend time in markets

Training and development/Talent Management

  • Implement global training strategy and tailor to market needs for all areas focusing on Commercial and Marketing
  • Oversee training implementation, longevity and follow up
  • Make recommendation on local training and development initiatives
  • Conduct talent review with top line managers to evaluate talent pool and encourage conversations
  • Select participants for internal programs

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s required, Master’s in HR preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience providing HR support in Mexico
  • Experience in benefits and payroll management required
  • Experience in setting up policies and guidelines preferred
  • In depth knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, including laws and regulations
  • Computer savvy: Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to communicate at various levels within and outside the organization
  • Well-organized, methodical and attentive to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information and matters with discretion
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
