The Highland Park Brand Specialist is a dedicated, passionate, brand champion, embodying the essence of the brand, with the goal to help make Highland Park a recognized global leader in single malt scotch. The Brand Specialist will be spearheading building brand awareness and relevancy in Denver through their social media presence, leading digital and live trial, education, brand sponsored events, building trade relationships, and building a network of influencers and connections to locally based lifestyle brands. This position is for a self-starter, someone who is highly driven to succeed, and enjoys going the extra mile to achieve results.It is imperative that the Brand Specialist embodies the essence of the brand, behaviour and delivery of key brand messages.
The Highland Park Specialist is the inspiring and passionate face of Highland Park in their markets and responsible for the education and recruitment of consumers and key trade stakeholders. They will help to drive an increase in Highland Park brand awareness and consideration, as measured by established tracking tools specifically, they are accountable for (but not limited to):
Brand
- Bring the brand essence to life in every single interaction, event and training.
- Be the Expert! Act as our in-market local authority on the brand to the trade, local consumers, and local media. The Highland Park Whisky authority in the market.
- Work with the brand team to implement a range of marketing activations and communications that are in line with the brand messages and objectives.
- Elevate Highland Park with our local stakeholders, educating them on Scotch production and Brand Proposition resulting in it being clear and top of mind. Help them become Highland Park brand lovers.
- Accelerate the growth of the brand in Denver
- Recruit New Consumers to the brand: Seek opportunities to sample, educate, entertain, expose, and partner with influencers and consumers
- Support the planning and execution of experiential events.
- Represent Highland Park at local media, consumer, and trade events
- Build influencer networks, including collectors and professional groups
- Work with retained agencies to engage and build relations with influencers and trade
- Create & develop a social media following via Instagram and Facebook that adheres to corporate policy and brand guidelines.
- Recruit brand advocates and explore Denver based lifestyle partnership brands that share Highland Park ethos, status and values.
Commercial
- Identify, partner, and execute events in on premise, off-premise & non-licensed accounts to brand standards
- Work alongside the local teams to achieve program objectives
- Build brand advocacy through brand specific trainings for key commercial and trade partners ensuring front of mind presence and selling confidence of Highland Park at priority accounts
- Drive brand visibility and traction in the on and off premises
- Work collaboratively with local Edrington Area Manager in Denver actively engage distributor sales on Highland Park
- Work alongside distributor sales team members to facilitate Highland Park listings and menu placement in key on/off accounts.
- Assist in planning and programming Highland Park with distributor
- Attend monthly distributor General Sales Meetings and team meetings to reinforce the brand message
- Communicate and document market activity and conditions regarding trends, competitive activity, etc
Budgeting & Reporting
- Responsible for the management and best use of their annual personal travel and entertainment budget
- Responsible for regular reporting – Event reports, program recaps, expense reports, consumer insights, competitor positioning, performance against targets, etc
Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience
- Passion for super premium spirits (Scotch focus)
- Motivated self-starter, gregarious personality, articulate, charismatic, polished, and professional
- Exceptional organizational & event production/management skills
- Adept at networking, selling and interacting with diverse groups of people
- Strong written, verbal and public speaking skills
- Use of Social Media (Facebook, Instagram) & technology
- Ability to work independently, manage a personal schedule, think creatively,

- Role requires evening and weekend coverage – it is a full-time role with non-standard hours
- Must reside in Denver
- Fluent in English
- Valid driver’s license
- Eligible to work in the USA
